First Day of School

First Day of School

Today was the first day of school! Pictured above is the beautiful bulletin board Mark and I (mostly Mark) made. It was exciting to be back with all of the kids. Julie, Char, Mark, and I accomplished so much in the office. I have so many ins and outs to learn! Miles (or Kimo) is having a good time with Meredith. Natalie and I are enjoying having her at our house.

We had the locks changed in our house today, because of Natalie’s missing purse, etc. The locksmith that changed the complex locking system of the back door gave us the shirt Miles is modeling above!

Ice Cream!

I spent a good amount of today resting and getting things organized and ready for the first week of school. Natalie and I did get out to run a few errands…and get ice cream (sorry the picture is pixilated). Mark, Natalie, and I made a last summer trip to Ruby Tuesday’s for our favorite salad bar and sweet tea!

K'aena Point

Mark, Natalie, and I went to the north shore to meet up with Miles and Meredith today. It rained most of the early afternoon (which stunk). Then Natalie’s bag, purse, and wallet were stolen from my car (which stunk way more). To try to put a positive ending on the day, the three of us went jeeping at K’aena Point. Mark did a good job driving, and Natalie and I did a good job of not dying. We ended the day at Rosie’s Cantina–my favorite Mexican food on the island!

Meredith got in yesterday. It is so good to see her, and to see Miles so excited! We have accomplished a good amount in the office this week! The kids come back to school on Monday. Tonight after dinner, Mark, Natalie and I came back to the house for some chocolate haupia pie and guitar. We, well at least I, enjoyed the relaxed time with good friends. Natalie and I made our first pot of coffee in the townhouse–man I love Lion coffee! I also love it when Natalie and Mark let me play restaurant. Pictured above is the “restaurant style” haupia pie dessert plate I made Mark.

Guitar

Cordray is letting us borrow her guitar. It has been so useful this summer! We had a really relaxing evening tonight filled with left-overs, books, a guitar waiting to be played…

Win/loss

Win/loss

Tonight we had the Summer Fun staff over to the house for an end of summer party. The guys cooked some delic. burgers, Nat and I made some meaty, meaty-cake, and we played a fun game of silent football! Natalie won/lost the game and had to lick 2 of Miles’ toes…

Miles and Mark trying to figure the stereo out

Mom left today. The reality of “moving to Hawai’i” is starting to set in. It is still wonderful to have Mark and Miles here, though. Tonight they tirelessly tried to figure out how to put my new ipod connector-thing into my stereo, but because we are lacking a special stereo tool, were unable. I really am thankful for both of their friendship!

Mom worked all day with me today in the office–what a great mom she is! It felt so wonderful to get some things crossed off my list! There are so many little things you have to do when you move!

Ono Hawaiian Food

Ono Hawaiian Food

Dad left yesterday and Andrew is leaving today. Mom, Andrew, and I hiked Judd Trail and went back to the north shore. After we dropped off Andrew, the Miller, Crosby (remains), and Haleloa familes went and ate at Ono Hawaiian Food.
